Living in Los Angeles for a couple of years was lovely, but there were moments when I felt like I was living in some sort of weird time vortex. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the eternal sunshine and warmth, but I did miss the obvious signs that the seasons were changing. That being said, I have grown to appreciate living in Seattle. Being in the Pacific Northwest during the fall is an incredible thing. I get to actually see the leaves change, enjoy amazing chai tea lattes from indie coffee shops galore, cozy up inside with a book while it pours, and oh! most importantly.... wear fall clothes.
Of course I may be biased because of my love for denim, but I truly think that an easy way to revamp your cooler-weather wardrobe is a really great new pair of deep blue jeans. You can pair them with the sweaters you pull out from under your bed, and even though you've owned them for years, your look can still feel fresh. These AG Jeans are my new favorite. They’re called “The Farrah Skinny”. The mid-rise makes for comfortable wear, the material is soft as can be, and I really like the deep blue wash.
Next essential fall item is most definitely a black leather biker jacket. This one is the "Balfern" from Allsaints. I am so glad I invested in this guy for I wear it with absolutely everything. That's the cool thing about biker jackets, you can wear them casually when running around and doing errands, or out on a date. I also told myself when purchasing my jacket (at first to justify buying it) that it will "get better with age" and "last forever". Sure enough I found this to be true. I have skated, traveled, slept, and danced in this thing and it still looks great.
Last but definitely not least.... boots!! I am not only a collector of denim, but also one of black leather boots. I think I may have picked this up from my mother (having shoe bins that line the walls of our garage full of them….). This pair is from Topshop. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone! They’re comfortable to walk in all day, the leather is a great quality, and who doesn’t like the look of a sock boot?! Tell me... I dare you.
I’m happy that the seasons are changing and I get to slide on my leather jacket, boots, and jeans without a fret. Lets see how long my enthusiasm for this chilly weather lasts!
