I'm known to be a bit of a denim junky - collecting numerous pairs of different brands, washes and styles. I even hold onto pairs that no longer fit because I have an attachment to them. This is because I have an appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into creating well-fitting denim and find old pairs to have such beauty that only time can add its special adornment!
I also absolutely love velvet. I used to think that velvet was one of those fabrics that you could only wear when it's cold out, but NO. That's a lie! Velvet can be worn year-round. It was roughly 75 degrees out on the day of this shoot, and I was very comfortable. There are certain "rules" in fashion that are OK to break, and I believe that the rule of having "summer" or "winter" fabrics is one of them. Wear those suede heels in July! Just make sure to pair them with a summery dress or skirt. People will notice your bravery!
I'm a firm believer in less is more, so I tend to dress pretty simply. I don't accessorize that much, but lately I've added these western inspired belts to my look. They're easy and really make a difference!
